Most Anticipated 2015 Debuts

Hello Lovelies! As always, this top ten Tuesday post is brought to you by the lovely folks over at The Broke and the Bookish

This week's post required a bit of research. The kind of research I love to do! This is the..

Top Ten Most Anticipated 2015 Debuts

Tiny Pretty Things by Sonia Charaipotra and Dhonielle Clayton: This sounds like a young adult, more backstabby version of Center Stage, and I'm so excited about it!!

Solitaire by Alice Oseman: I'm not entirely sure what this is supposed to be about, but it sounds a little bit like Tales of the Madman Underground which I adored, so I'm willing to give it a shot.

Magonia by Maria Dahvana Headley: It's compared to Stardust (meets The Fault in Our Stars wha wha wha) but it actually does sound like Stardust! And Stardust is amazing. And this sounds fantastic. I can't wait.

An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaa Tahir: Basically Gladiator plus scholars. And it's gotten great reviews. Should be awesome.

The Memory Key by Liana Liu: I have a secret soft spot for books based around forgetting. I love people falling back in love with other people. And this looks great because it's based around a mother-daughter relationship.

The Wrong Side of Right by Jenn Marie Thorne: I also love the presidential daughter trope. It's be great to see the President as the mom for once, but that's a different story. But I still have high hopes for this one.

Written in the Stars by Aisha Saeed: I'm so excited for this book. It looks at arranged marriages from the viewpoint of a young girl whose parents reveal to her that they have set her up with one when they are on a family vacation to Pakistan. I think it sounds amazing.

Playlist for the Dead by Michelle Falkoff: This one sounds heart-breaking. It seems a bit like Thirteen Reasons Why, but based around songs instead of tapes.

The Distance Between Lost and Found by Kathryn Holmes: Camping Trip. Lost in the wilderness. Secrets and Gossip. I mean, what could go wrong? EVERYTHING. I LOVE IT.

A Wicked Thing by Rhiannon Thomas: More of a continuation of the Sleeping Beauty myth than a retelling, this one looks like it could be really awesome.

What do you think lovelies? What debuts are you most excited for? I got really into looking for these, so I'd love to hear about any others!!

  1. I am so excited for Tiny Pretty Things as well! (I didn't find out about it until after my list was already made though!) I don't know if you know about/have read this yet, but you should check out Pointe by Brandy Colbert. It's very very high on my TBR list.

Blarghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. Hello lovelies. I'm feeling super overwhelmed by life since I'm doing Camp Nanowrimo and trying to move and find a place to live 2600 miles away. So that's my excuse for missing last week. But now you get two weeks in a row. So this week's theme (hosted as always by The Broke and the Bookish ) is... Top Ten Favorite Movies   (And I picked Scary Movies) I have a secret. Or I guess I had a secret. And that secret is that I love  scary movies. Like anything that plays on gross special effects or melting walls or sudden appearances--I'm totally down for it. (This has only back fired on me once--when I had a panic attack watching Saw 2--I don't wanna talk about it...) So in no particular order, movies that really impressed me with their scare factors: 1. Thir13een Ghosts -- there's this scene with a glass door that is ingrained in my brain.  2. Haunting in Conneticut -- aw man, this movie is sooo good. I actu

The Top Ten Books with Characters Who are Unreliable Narrators (AKA BIG OL' LIARS). I love unreliable narrators because you never know if they're actually being unreliable or not. Finnikin of the Rock by Melina Marchetta 5. Don't Look Back by Jennifer L. Armentrout 6. Code Name Verity by Elizabeth Wein 7. Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte 8. The Princess Bride by William Goldman 9. Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas 10. More Diversity in Your Book Diet

Hello Lovelies! As usual Top Ten Tuesday is brought to you by the lovely people over at The Broke and the Bookish . Today's topic is Top Ten Books for People Who Like X, and I'm going to go with... Top Ten Books for People Who Like Diversity Thanks to the efforts of groups like We Need Diverse Books, diversity is having a resurgence in young adult and children's books. For the last couple years, I have been trying to read more books with diverse characters or by diverse authors. (Diverse in this respect includes race, sexuality, gender, and disability). I haven't endeavored to challenge myself to only read a certain type of book i.e. only those by women of color or anything that isn't by a white heterosexual male, but I try to be extra aware of the characters and ask myself if they actually are white (sometimes the text doesn't say it, sometimes people just assume it!) and if being white is necessary for the character or not.  But here are my top t
