Henry in Love by Peter McCarty is the beautifully illustrated book about young love.
Henry the cat is in love. He's in love with Chloe the bunny at school. And this book is about how he demonstrates his love on one day.
There are so many things about this book that I just love. It doesn't make Henry's love for Chloe seem unimportant. Even though adults will probably read it as a super cute juvenile infatuation, McCarty never makes their love seem less than real. Also the pure, innocence of his love is something that we can all learn from.
I also just love McCarty's art style. He won a Caldecott honor for Hondo & Fabian, but I think I like this book's art just a tiny bit more.
So, in honor of Valentine's Day, consider reading this little love story to your little loved one!
